Open Doors at CMC at The Park, Chodov
CMC was pleasantly surprised by the interest of visitors to undergo free melanoma testing as part of CMC's Open Doors day at The Park. Visitors who made a prior appointment enjoyed a five-minute examination by CMC's Dermatologist. Additional visitors who did not make an appointment were able enjoy a tour and refreshments.
Examinations of pigmented naevi
A melanoma is one of the most malignant types of cancer, as unlike other skin tumours, its metastasis spreads quickly into other organs of the body. The number of patients with this diagnosis is increasing also in the Czech Republic. Time is one of essence in the treatment of melanoma.
Canadian Medical Care, a private medical facility, located also at The Park in Prague 4 - Chodov, organised an Open Doors day accompanied by free melanoma testing. "Everyone should pay close attention to the changes on their skin and to immediately visit a specialist if a new skin mark changes colour, increases in size and thickness," says Dr. Seunikova, CMC's Dermatologist. A dermatologist is able to distinguish between different types of melanoma by the means of a simple clinical test. "If a definite diagnosis of skin cancer is confirmed, we use biopsy, the examination of a sample of the living tissue under a microscope. If the melanoma is removed at an early stage, the treatment of illness is usually successful. The important thing is not to get sunburnt! The skin should not turn red," Dr. Seunikova warned the visitors. She pointed out that there is no need either to be overly cautious during the upcoming summer holiday. "It is natural for the skin to be exposed to the sun. Avoiding the sun excessively is also unhealthy."
We value our patients' trust
Employees who work at The Park showed considerable interest in CMC, a private medical facility located near their offices. They learned about the Open Doors day from leaflets and from friends who are clients of CMC. "We are happy that our medical facility is trusted by our patients who pass their positive experience to others," said Dr. Barbara Tausova, Director of CMC. Many visitors enjoyed a tour of the offices of CMC's general practitioners, pediatricians, dentist, gynecologist, ophthalmologists, and physiotherapists. Dr. Kadlec, Dentist, was most frequently asked about dental hygiene which is useful for the prevention of most oral problems. Dr. Sobotka, General Practitioner, answered questions about intraocular pressure and ocular refraction. The Nurses measured BMI, blood pressure, pulse, etc. Dr. Vaneckova, Pediatrician informed visitors about children's health programs offered by CMC. They have on-call access to medical care 24 hours a day.
