Mgr. Barbora Downes studied Psychology at the Philosophical faculty of the Charles University in Prague and has been working as a psychologist for the past eight years. Her experience includes working at institutions such as the Infant Institute and Children's home in Teplice, Child Crisis center in Zápolí - Prague 4, "Pepa" Children's home in Pribram, and the A. Brochier Kinderfonds Stiftung foundation.

She is an active publisher and has taken several courses in psychology (on-going professional development). Ms. Downes is the chairwoman and a member of the board of governors at several children's homes and is a regular guest of the "Duverne domino" discussion program on CR 2 radio. She is fluent in Czech, German, and English.
